We are
excited to announce that Sit Happens is now offering group obedience
classes.
The
first set of classes started at the beginning of June and is running
for 7 consecutive weeks. Classes are currently being held at a
fenced-in park in Cowan, but in future, the location and the exact
times and days will be determined based on demand, so please contact
us.

To make
sure you get the most value for your money, we have decided to limit
class sizes to a MAXIMUM of 6 dogs. Make sure you register early, as
we are taking bookings now and classes will fill up quickly.
As the
group classes are a new service, for the time being we will only be
offering basic obedience. However, if there is an expressed interest
in more advanced training classes, those will be offered as well.

Requirements:
Our classes
are open to dogs of all ages and temperaments. However, they must be
at least 4 months old and be up to date on all of their
vaccinations. Please bring your dog’s C5 (or equivalent) vaccination
certificate to be cited at the first session.
What to
Bring:
Remember,
the first session is just for the humans, so pooches can stay at
home and relax. The rest of the sessions, please bring a water
bottle and bowl, yummy treats (preferably nothing crumbly), a
favourite toy, a flat collar and lead (no longer than 6 feet), and
don’t forget the poop bags.
Safety
First:
The primary
focus of these classes is to encourage polite, calm behavior in our
dogs and develop their willingness to work with us. The goal is to
open the lines of communication between each owner and their dog,
while utilizing the other dogs as distractions, NOT as playmates.
Therefore, in order to create a safe and productive learning
environment, dogs MUST be on leash and be kept separated AT ALL
TIMES.
